Halloween is such a magical time for young children. I think that this time of year really brings out the imagination in everyone! The kids get to come up with creative costume ideas that reflect their personalities and interests. They also get to use their imaginations to pretend to be something or someone else.
And there’s nothing that screams, “Halloween,” more than a spooky (or cute) bat! So, since the creative spirit is in the air, we’ve decided to come up with a list of our favorite preschool bat crafts for you to enjoy with your students.
Bat Crafts and Activities
As I mentioned above, Halloween time is a perfect time to work on some bat-themed decorations and crafts for the classroom or home.
And these crafts are jam-packed with tons of early learning skills. From fine motor skills to exploring novel art techniques, the children stand to learn so much from each and every one of these activities. And, let’s not forget, they’re the perfect introduction to teaching students all about bats!
Bat Crafts for Preschoolers

Children will have an absolute blast exploring a new art technique as they gear up for Halloween with our coffee filter bat.
Find the perfect pinecones on a classroom nature walk and then make these easy pinecone bats from Fireflies and Mud Pies.
The hanging bat crafts from Buggy and Buddy can do double-duty as a classroom decoration this October.
Watch your class turn into a colony of bats after they each create a bat headband from Fun and Fantastic Learning. This is one of my favorite bat crafts!

These crafts yield some amazing results! But remember, regardless of which bat craft you choose to do with your students, it’s all about the process! Children get far more out of the process of creating than the actual product.
