The XV1 Camper Van From Xan’s Vans
Portland-based Xan’s Vans specializes in building out Ram ProMaster vans as unique campers. One of his custom camper van conversions, the XV1, is currently up for sale, and it offers both comfort and convenience on the road.
The custom camper is built on a Ram ProMaster with a 159″ wheelbase. It comes with an extensive solar power system to take you off-grid for at least a week. In fact, the van was even taken on a one-week expedition to break in the systems and ensure that all the systems are fully functioning.
The interior was upgraded with luxurious vinyl plank flooring and a beautiful cedar tongue and groove ceiling. Other new features include custom blackout window covers and flip-up shoe storage space.
The kitchen was built out with solid acacia countertops, a Dometic 3-burner propane stove/oven, and a stainless steel undermount sink. Both the sink and the cooktop have a butcher block cover to provide extra counter space as needed. The sink also comes with a hot and cold sprayer faucet and a soap dispenser to make dishwashing a breeze.
The well-appointed kitchen has more than enough storage space. It includes frameless custom cabinetry, a fridge drawer, a drawer for bowls and plates, a drawer for utensils and cutlery, and a pull-out pantry drawer. There is additionally drawer space under the oven for pots and pans, as well as a toe-kick drawer for baking sheets and cutting boards.
Under the sink is a trash can, a SHURflo water pump, a Bosch mini-tank water heater, and a sealed and vented propane locker. There is also a pull-out drawer under the bench seating that houses a Camco cassette-style toilet.
The full-size bamboo memory foam mattress comes outfitted with a full duvet as well as pillows and sheets. Above the bed, there is overhead cabinet space with latches for extra storage.
The exterior has been upgraded with lots of useful features as well. It includes a rooftop deck, roof rails, 630 watts of solar power, and a Maxxair Deluxe Fan.
If you want to go off-grid for an extended period of time, this is the van for you. The XV1 has an impressive 630-watt solar power system. It also features a 200AH LiFePO4 battery, a smart battery monitor, a charge controller, and an alternator charger. The electrical system includes a 2000W Renogy inverter (with a switch located under the sink) and several AC/DC and USB-C outlets throughout the van.
The electrical system uses marine wiring and components. It powers the dimmable interior lights, including soft white ceiling lights, white and red lights over the bed, and LED color changing lights under the cabinets.
The van garage transforms into a private shower with a rear door shower curtain line. The van comes with a 15 lb propane tank, in addition to an interior 28-gallon freshwater tank and an exterior gray water tank with an interior dump switch.
The XV1 is currently up for sale at $115,000. Xan’s Vans is also now accepting custom camper van conversions for the fall of 2023. For more information, visit their website at xansvans.com.
